Psalm 32
“1 [A Psalm] of David, Maschil.] Blessed [is he whose]
transgression [is] forgiven, [whose] sin [is] covered. 2 Blessed [is]
the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit
[there is] no guile. 3 When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through
my roaring all the day long. 4 For day and night thy hand was heavy upon
me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah. 5 I
acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said,
I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the
iniquity of my sin. Selah. 6 For this shall every one that is godly pray
unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of
great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.”
“7 Thou [art] my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble;
thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. 8 I will
instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will
guide thee with mine eye. 9 Be ye not as the horse, [or] as the mule,
[which] have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and
bridle, lest they come near unto thee. 10 Many sorrows [shall be] to the
wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about.
11 Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy,
all [ye that are] upright in heart.” (Psalms 32:1-11 AV)
Psalm 31
“1 [A Psalm [and] Song [at] the dedication of the house of David.] I
will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made
my foes to rejoice over me. 2 O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou
hast healed me. 3 O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave:
thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. 4 Sing
unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of
his holiness. 5 For his anger [endureth but] a moment; in his favour
[is] life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy [cometh] in the
morning.”
“6 And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved. 7 LORD, by thy
favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy
face, [and] I was troubled. 8 I cried to thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD
I made supplication. 9 What profit [is there] in my blood, when I go
down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?
10 Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper. 11
Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my
sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; 12 To the end that [my] glory
may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give
thanks unto thee for ever.” (Psalms 30:1-12 AV)
