Psalm 101
“1 I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto

She agreed and said she didn't watch much. I told her that on a computer I could choose what I wanted to see but that I still had to be careful. She had watched something on America's Got Talent or something or other like that. She was telling me how someone was dancing and flinging paint onto a wall and when they finished they had flung paint in such a way that it created a piece of art work that looked like the art work of the person who also wrote the song they were singing... or something like that. I'm not exactly sure. It does amaze me how people can fling paint and create. Some people just have remarkable abilities to do creative stuff.
The main scripture our ministers use for "no T.V." is the one above. Coincidence that it would come up today.

Scriptures on Prayer
Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ.
(God is not going to ask us to do something and then when we do it not reward our obedience.)
And the law of Christ, as I see it, was laid out when Jesus Himself said that the Two greatest commandments were to love God FIRST with your whole heart, soul, mind, and spirit and SECOND to love thy neighbor as thyself. And if you love your neighbor as much as you love yourself then you will be caring about and bearing his burdens.
Matthew 7:7-12
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?

In spite of how it might seem to us sometimes, God is in control of His creation. He can, whenever He desires, bring an end to it all or turn things around.
"Righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne"
We have read of the things God hates.
1. a ceremonial staff held by a monarch as symbol of authority
2. imperial authority; sovereignty
Righteousness is God's authority. It's what makes Him sovereign.
Righteousness exalteth a nation.
Those who love righteousness also love the judgments of God because it is through adhering to His judgment and wisdom that righteousness comes.
As long as we hate evil and love righteousness (shown by our choices), then God will be there to preserve us and deliver us out of the hand of the wicked.
“8 Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy judgments, O LORD. 9 For thou, LORD, [art] high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods. 10 Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. 11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart. 12 Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.”

We have read of the things God hates.
These six things the LORD hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: 17 A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, 19 A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren.But here we learn what God loves: righteousness and judgment
We learn from thispassage that not only does God have great love for certain things he also hates certain things. Now the word hate in this context also carries the meaning to detest or to abhor those things which are abominable. The word abominable means a disgusting thing or a scheme that that brings about evil. These things that God hates comes from persons heart. Notice Jesus says in,
Matthew 15:19 "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. 20 "These are the things which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man."
Hebrews 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.sceptre:

people. 4 For the LORD [is] great, and greatly to be praised: he [is] to
be feared above all gods. 5 For all the gods of the nations [are] idols:
but the LORD made the heavens. 6 Honour and majesty [are] before him:
strength and beauty [are] in his sanctuary. 7 Give unto the LORD, O ye
kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength. 8 Give
unto the LORD the glory [due unto] his name: bring an offering, and come
into his courts. 9 O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear
before him, all the earth.”

I'm so thankful that I can sing that "new song", that I am not the old person that I used to be. Through virtue of faith in what Jesus Christ came to do and through Him, I have been made a new creature. Old things have passed away. All things have become new. I don't walk the way I used to walk. I don't talk the way I used to talk.
"shew forth his salvation from day to day" And I am also thankful that this is not something which is come-and-go, here-today-gone-tomorrow. It's a strength, a power, and a wisdom that guides us through life from day to day.
"the LORD made the heavens"
My God is the Creator. He is all powerful. Omniscient. Always there. He is so "gifted" that he can "take in" every detail of His creation in every way all the time, even down to knowing exactly how many hairs are left on our heads.
"strength and beauty [are] in his sanctuary"
His sanctuary is holy and righteous. His strength is righteousness. That is His sceptre. Righteousness is what He uses to defeat evil.
"Bring an offering and come into his courts"
Don't allow yourself to come to the place that you no longer offer the sacrifice of praise to God in the courts where His people are gathered.
His strength is righteousness. And ultimately, righteousness will be that by which ALL people are judged. They will rise and fall depending on whether they have allowed Him to produce righteousness in them.

"strength and beauty [are] in his sanctuary"
His sanctuary is holy and righteous. His strength is righteousness. That is His sceptre. Righteousness is what He uses to defeat evil.
"Bring an offering and come into his courts"
Don't allow yourself to come to the place that you no longer offer the sacrifice of praise to God in the courts where His people are gathered.
His strength is righteousness. And ultimately, righteousness will be that by which ALL people are judged. They will rise and fall depending on whether they have allowed Him to produce righteousness in them.
